Adventure in the Park or Scam?

Over the weekend (0ct. 8th & 9th) Adventure in the Park was supposed to take place in Lakewood NJ. posted the following statement:

“Due to public safety concerns, the township of Lakewood New Jersey has officially cancelled Adventure In The Park 2016 as a result of the uncertainty of Hurricane Matthew’s impact on the Jersey Shore this Friday October 7th through Sunday October 9th.

We have spoken with town officials and it is in the communities best interest to prepare for what is approaching, due to previous historic hurricanes which have impacted the surrounding areas. Please be aware that this is solely for the safety of all adventurers and artists.

We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this has caused anyone, and we are working diligently to make next year’s festival a much greater experience!

Full refunds will be available at your point of purchase. Those who purchased tickets online will receive an email from Ticketfly or Ticketmaster by the end of the day”
The festival was supposed to include acts such as Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi, DJ Mustard, 4B, Dougie F, Yellow Claw & more. According their Instagram ticket holders are not too happy. Allegations include promoters that have not returned funds along with artists and dj’s who claim they were told to sell 50 tickets or more if they wanted to perform.

It look’s like the ticket master and ticket fly links are down as well. I guess the real question is why wasn’t the festival postponed until the following week? The next question is were all these acts really going to perform and of course the last question is, was this event ever gonna happen anyway. Iv’e tried to find organizers online to get more information but to no avail.
